the hated begets the necessary by marcyintellect the hated begets the necessary by marcyintellect
portraits > conceptual portraits. my conceptual work revolves around people!
-----
the thing you hate most, that backed you up into a corner, is the one thing you also need to get out. facing your fears and getting over the fact that what you need to succeed is being held above your head ever so distantly is what riddles mankind...

hmm. so this is sara. shes kinda like my assistant cause shes starting to shoot alot...well, shes my technical assistant, maggie is my goaroundandbehelpful assistant. just to clarify. heh. i promised myself to do pretty pictures of sara after this, cause these are a bit scary, ha....

and they are not bondage. well, if you take bondage as a technical term, i suppose she is considered bound...but bondage as in the controversial semiviolent act of some sexual beings...no. im anti-bondage in that sense. so don't even bring it up, if you do...you will be promptly asked to shut up. haha.

i think i had something else to say....but i suppose for once I am a lady of few words, considering my usual discourses.

I like it. But her expression looks fake an it almost looks as if she is fighting against laughter. Was that part of the plan?

the scene is a little vague to me
the hatchet in the wall; the skirt tagged up to the wall

the corner makes sense in connection with her emotive poses (great emotion by the way)

interesting none the less

oh oh
congratulations on your awards
great opportunity there

sorry, i dont really randomly cast people, i either make up ideas and then cast people i know into them like plays....or create ideas specifically for faces that i know. so, sorry.

inspires different thoughts. Thoughts about things just out of your reach, things you've blocked out of your memory. Thoughts about instincts, like your instincts are screaming at you about something. I guess I can see how someone might think of it as bondage (as in the sexual stuff)..but that would kind of be looking at it from a bit of a shallow perspective, at least if that's the only interpretation someone could get from this.

wow - very expressive!
i think people should start to think about their fears more often - maybe the world would be a better place...

Wow...

I like the strong shadows on the wall of the first shot, but the pose and symmetry of the second. She looks like she'd kick some ass if you untied her. :P

Nice to see a new concept from you :) I like it, but I'm thinking more of a downshot would be more visually interesting, plus emphasize the fact that she feels helpless. It took me a sec to realize why you chose a hammer. Perhaps it is better to use the hammer because it makes the viewer think about it more, but my inclination would be to place a saw or knife or some other cutting object. The viewer doesn't really see the nails, but you can immediately see that she wants the rope to cut. I guess it's just a matter of how quickly you want the concept to read.

Marce..you know I love everything you do.

But this is the least of my favourites. (still a compliment)

Is that the shadow of the hammer in the top right of the frame (most noticable in the 1st picture).

Wow! That's stunning... and she is... but the concept, and the way she seems to be perched on the base of the dress rather than standing in it (well, it does/did to me anyway)... Wonderful

Fun :) I especially like the tying up (nailing?) of the layers of skirts as it adds a lot of colour and shape to the photo, as well as emphasising her being held back. Great lighting too.

Hmm... she's awfully angry-looking. Is it because she can't reach the hammer, and needs it to undo the nails that are tacking her dress to the walls? If so, why are her hands tied...? Wait.. maybe I just answered my own question. I need more time to contemplate this one.
