so... a loooong time ago i did a diptych of a photograph with one colour tones being toward embryonic/etc fluid, one being more like a washed out embalmed, drowned look. life and death, basically. here is a cyanotype i did awhile ago with the same image
HOWEVER this scan is making me want to cry. what i did is printed the cyanotype on hotpress watercolour paper, then printed it the same size on vellum, then layered them with about .5 distance between the two. the image is 3D in a creepy, watery way. and you cannot tell at all! gah. its my favourite cyanotype layering Ive ever done (though im doing some right now as we speak....ha) but it is for sale. hahahah. i will attempt to photograph it to show the depth quality, if i get the chance. but i have not been submitting much, and as i am finishing up my goodies on my store that i am making (yes, im artsy/craftsy too. and i can make one hell of a shirt/bag/dress, etc. ha) i figured I would submit. so here, look at this bad scan and feel sorry for yourself, cause you cant see the real thing! *squirts eyedrops into your eyes to simulate tears* hehe
and PLEASE for the love of mary, make sure your screen is at the highest brightness control and then flip between 50 and 100 for contrast to see the lightest version of this photo....if your screen is set too dark, it will look indescribably disgusting and muddied.
Very cool... and a technique new to me. I think I've done just about everything else with them, from toning to overprinting with gum bichromate or a dilute Van Dyke solution.
Doing a happy dance to see someone with your talent and creativity plunging into alt-process.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I envy you skills.
