Michael says its an autobiography but I don't know. Its hard when someone's eyes are lonely and soulless, you know?

A passage from an essay i wrote about this girl, titled "you can't have her until you know all the little things about her:

You can’t have her unless you notice all of the tiny things about her.

Like how she takes her coffee, or how she pushes her shoes around until they finally get on her feet, and how her fingertips are all red from trying to squeeze her fingers in the back of her shoes to get her heel in. She liked the shadows at noontime on the ladder going up to her top bunk, as a child.

You can’t have her until you notice what kinds of sheets she uses, or how many pillows she wants. Does she sleep in a ball? In a line? Does she talk in her sleep?

Wonder if she ever hums “singing in the rain” and twirls her umbrella when she’s alone, walking home from the library or from the post office? Or if she ever pretends she can tap dance when she hears how clearly her shoes click on a certain floor… toe, heel, toe, heel, CLAP. She skips down the stairs and she skips to anything and everything dangerous.

She hates the way that the dishes clang when she takes them out of the cupboard. It always makes her cringe. She also hates opening candy apples or other wrapped items because she fears she is disturbing someone, somewhere. Even the tray that goes in the microwave hurts her ears when it clicks into place.
